Primary Source

A primary source is a document, interview, speech, or any written, or created during the time, the topic or the person that was being study. It is written by witness or a recorder who has experience the events. This kind of sources gives you an inside look of the events happening during that time. It is an original source. Another type of primary source is a person that has a great knowledge about the topic that has being talk about . The difference between a primary and secondary source is that that the secondary source is based on the primary source, which the author can put his opinion also and it is necessary to quote.

Examples of primary sources: interviews, autobiographies, diaries, videos, letters, news photographs, speeches video diaries.

What is an investigation?

The verb investigation is the action of investigating something or someone: a formal research. Another word for investigation is research. There are many ways to present an investigation, it can be an essay, a power point presentation, a web page, etc. You need to make an sketch of were everything is going to go, the things you are going to talk about, the pictures you are going to put, the sources you are going to get the information for (remember to list them at the end of the investigation to give credit), the citation form you are going to use.

If you are doing an online research be careful from were you are getting the information, there are some webpages were anyone can manipulate the information. The web pages should have an author, the date it was created, the date it was edited, copyright date. If this webpage as all or most of this things this is a reliable webpage. And always remember to use not only one source use as many as you can so you can compare them and then unite them so your work will be complete.

Introduction

This page will give you new tips to make a good research, and try to avoid the "copy-paste" it is not good to copy other people's words, this can be avoided with good citation. Some thing that will appear in this page are: the steps to do an investigation, what is an investigation, talk about different sources to do in an investigation, and to find out which websites we should trust and which are not very reliable because anyone can edit them. I hope to help them this page.
